Last night was a great night for Gracenote as their interpretation of Ms. Donnalyn Onilongo’s original song entry in the Philpop 2018 songwriting competition won the Smart’s “People’s Choice Award”. The support of Gracians for this special project was surely felt all throughout the competition and it is no wonder their entry won the prize. The song “Yun tayo” is one of the top 10 finalists that battled it out last December 2, 2018 at the Capital Commons, Ortigas grand finals night.
The band (Eunice Jorge on vocals, violins and keyboards, Jazz Jorge on bass, Tatsi Jamnague on guitars and EJ Pichay on drums) arranged and performed the song which talks about love taken for granted with an electro-pop rock flavor they are known for. The performance during the finals also featured a quartet (Metro Manila Concert Orchestra – MCCO; Ma. Corazon De Guzman, Renee Francesca King, Zhai Jacob Queta, Kristine Lorraine Ferrer, & Jonathan D. Cruz) and a violin solo by Eunice.
Congratulations, Gracenote and Ms. Onilonggo! Keep making music!
