“Soup of the Week” season ender was the perfect venue to launch the newest single of guests Maysh Baay and Herbert Hernandez of Moonstar88 entitled “Naantala” which also happened to be written by Raymund Marasigan. Rayms wrote the song after his conversation with friend Mon Punzalan of Team Manila who’s also feeling the crunch the due to the pandemic. Though a sad song, “Naantala” brings hope to listeners as well. Buddy Zabala, bassist of Moonstar88, reveals that he even made 3 extra bass notes on the song that represents an ellipsis (…) which symbolizes hope in these uncertain times. Moonstar88 recorded the song individually from each of their own homes.
The guests also shared their other passions and careers outside of music … Maysh in her Clinical research field and Bert in his Creatives career. Of course, they also talked about their music origins and how Moonstar88 was formed.
May birthday celebrants Rayms and Maysh were also both pleasantly surprised with their unexpected birthday cakes given during the show from their Soupstar music family.
