Fans of Moonstar88 got to experience a glimpse of the future during the band’s vinyl launch at Eton Centris last February 18.
Multi-awarded pop alternative Filipino band Moonstar88 successfully launched their highly anticipated new album, “Lourdes 2088,” special edition purple-colored vinyl last February 18, 2023 at Eton Centris. The album launch started with a meet-and-greet and vinyl signing with their fans followed by Jem’s wonderful performance and the most awaited part of the night, Moonstar88’s performance. Bands such as We Got, Mizael, Better Days and The Vowels They Orbit also performed at the after party celebration of the album launch.
This is Moonstar88’s first album release in ten years and this is also their first ever vinyl release in collaboration with The Grey Market Records and Backspacer Records. With this Vinyl, you get an analog sound that reverberates and creates a warm sound you can’t find in any other medium. The music and vocals or closer to the way artists sound live, with a lossless format that isn’t overly compressed.
Led by singles “Next Week” and “Parola”, Lourdes 2088 also features eight other tracks. The album plays with the idea of a dystopian future (2088) where inventions go beyond the realm of science—even heartaches have a solution in order for people to adapt. The album theme is a collaboration with Nelz Yumul and GIGIL Metama, a web 3.0 agency.
Lourdes 2088 is produced by Raymund Marasigan and bassist Buddy Zabala, and recorded, mixed, and mastered by Shinji Tanaka at Kodama Studio. It’s also available on all digital streaming platforms.
