No rain can stop Gracenote’s release of their newest song entitled, “Tigil” which they launched via a special gig last Sunday, February 19, 2023 at East Deck, Robinson’s Metro East along with the song’s official music video. Fans showed their support not only by coming out but also by and singing and dancing along to the band’s performance. Bands such as Mizael, Better Days and Hey June! joined them in their single launch.
Tigil is their follow-up release after “Content Ako Sa’yo” (their third collaboration song with Chito Miranda of Parokya Ni Edgarand as part of their 15th anniversary offering). Tigil’s official MV was directed by Cris Escalano and was also shot at East Deck, Robinson’s Metro featuring Driftito Academy’s Crazy cart, mini ATV and mini Dirtbike. The MV is now available on Gracenote’s Youtube channel.
Written by Eunice Jorge, “Tigil” sings about how to stop and get out of a toxic relationship. Through the song, she wants us to realize that sometimes, even if it’s hard to get out of an unhealthy relationship because you don’t want to lose the person you love, especially if you’ve been together for a long time, that doesn’t mean you need to stay for the sake of staying. If the relationship is too unhealthy, it’s time to think about yourself and know your worth. Don’t hesitate to stop a toxic relationship, remember that you deserve to be happy and you deserve the kind of love that will make you love yourself even more, not the one that will make you lose yourself.
“Tigil” serves as the first single of Gracenote’s upcoming EP to be released this 2023. The song was produced by Darwin Hernandez and Eunice Jorge. It’s now available on all digital streaming platforms.
