MANILA, PHILIPPINES – OCTOBER 16, 2025 – One of Soupstar Music’s newest artists, Hey June! has officially renewed its partnership with Island Records Philippines, a division of Universal Music Group (UMG). This new multi-project deal marks the next chapter in Hey June’s journey as a band—they couldn’t be more grateful for the trust and belief the label continues to place in them. Together, they are committed to pushing the boundaries of OPM while staying true to their roots.
Since forming in 2021, Jim Mase (Vocals, Guitars, Songwriter), Coey Ballesteros (Bass, Back-up Vocals), and Aci Fodra (Drums, Back-up Vocals)—have been on a wild, beautiful ride. From releasing their debut songs in a tiny studio to seeing “Lasik” take off on the Spotify Philippines Viral 50, and even winning Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the 36th Awit Awards (2023), every step has felt surreal.
The band is heading back into the studio to begin work on their second full-length album, slated for a 2026 release. “We’ve grown so much as musicians and as people since Curiosity Killed The Cat, and we’re pouring everything we’ve learned into this next record. We hope this album will connect even more deeply with all of you. Thank you for believing in us. We’re just getting started.” – Hey June!
