Moonstar88 welcomes a new chapter with the release of Habambuhay, their 13-track album out today, October 12, 2026, under EMI Records Philippines. Managed by Soupstar Music, the band continues to capture the many sides of love, friendship, and life through their previously released singles “Goma,” “Kape Tayo,” and “Ding Dong.”
The album also features “Sydney,” the band’s fourth single and most personal release yet. Written by Herbert Hernandez, the song draws inspiration from the bonds that remain despite distance, capturing the hugs, tears, and promise of coming home.
Anchored by the line “Titiisin kahit sandali kaysa wala” (“I’d rather have even a moment than nothing at all”), “Sydney” speaks to anyone who has experienced long-distance relationships brought about by migration, and also the bittersweet feeling of being apart from loved ones. Rather than focusing on loss, the song celebrates the connections that endure across oceans, serving also as a heartfelt tribute to the Moonstareros who have stayed with the band through every chapter.
