Following the heartfelt release of his debut single “Dahan-dahan” last March 13, 2026, rising singer-songwriter of Soupstar Music, James Lagadia, now sets the tone for a deeper and more emotional journey with his brand-new track titled “Natatangi.”
“Natatangi” tells the story of a love that was never meant to happen, it is a connection that is caught between admiration and distance. The song is much like the irony of “Langit Lupa,” where two people can see each other but can never truly be together. Inspired by a close friend’s real life experience of falling in love with their own friend, James transformed the emotions behind the story into a heartfelt and painfully honest song.
Just like in “Dahan-Dahan,” Eunice Jorge served as the producer of the track while Christopher Buenviaje handled the acoustic arrangements for the song. James shared how honored and overwhelmed he is working with them and described his experience with them as a privilege. The track was also recorded at Velvet Playground, Marikina City.
According to James, parts of the song were also influenced by the love stories he constantly sees and hears around him—stories filled with longing, silence, and feelings that can never be fully confessed.
After introducing listeners to his gentle and emotional sound through “Dahan-Dahan,” James continues to establish his identity as a promising singer-songwriter through “Natatangi,” a song dedicated to the people who chose silence over risking losing someone they truly care about.
“Natatangi” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
