Following the release of “Goma” and “Kape Tayo” earlier this year, Moonstar88, managed by Soupstar Music, continues to explore different sides of everyday life and human connection with their latest single, “Ding Dong,” released under EMI Records Philippines.
Unlike the warmth of “Kape Tayo” and the resilience of “Goma,” “Ding Dong” takes listeners into a more frustrating and familiar feeling, the experience of being left out, unheard, or shut out despite trying to find a way in.
The song was inspired by a real-life experience of the band’s guitarist, Herbert Hernandez on New Year’s Day, when he found himself locked outside his own home. With the key in his hand but a chain lock keeping the door closed from the inside, what started as a simple inconvenience became something more. It became a reflection of those moments when you keep knocking, waiting, and hoping that someone will finally open the door.
Through “Ding Dong,” Moonstar88 turns an unexpected everyday situation into a relatable song about rejection, missed opportunities, and the feeling of being shut out without knowing why.
“Ding Dong” is the latest release from Moonstar88’s upcoming album and is out now on all digital streaming platforms.
